The as yet unnamed date in April when the lovely Laura will be leaving us to begin her fourth year as an Event Management student gets closer and closer, so does the realisation that we will soon be without that amazing addition to any company; an intern.

More and more universities seem to be catching onto the huge boost it gives their students’ employability for them to have spent time practising professionalism, and be it three weeks or thirty, the scheme is ideal for both employers and next year’s new wave of employees.

Five months with Private Drama and we notice each day without Laura – pending the question; what will we do when she’s gone?

With responsibilities ranging from creating contracts, managing databases and heading out to events and The Savoy to oversee a huge range of artists, there is no better way to learn about the Events industry; a student can study the theory for years and still fail to grasp the underlying, indescribable skills required to succeed in this business.

So perhaps this will make someone wonder; would an additional year of studying be beneficial, or would they do better to offer their undying loyalty to the industry of their choice; because nothing says committed like working for nothing.
